Experience. Integrity. Results.

"Let’s get to work on Maryland's future by ensuring people have good wages, access to education without the burden of debt, and an economy that offers the next generation a better future instead of leaving them behind. I’ve grown my own business from scratch and have helped many others thrive. I will work for a better economy by using my decades of experience fighting for those in need. I want to be the first Incubator Member of Congress."

- Peter Choharis

Peter’s Story

Raised by a single mom and the first in his family to go to college, Peter Choharis will go to Congress to work for working families.

Peter worked in a factory and as a construction worker to put himself through Harvard and later went to Yale Law School.

Peter has fought for human rights around the world, including defending Paul Rusesabagina, the hero of the movie “Hotel Rwanda,” who saved 1,200 lives. And he’s helped U.S. startups and investors succeed and grow the economy.

But most important, Peter and his wife Lili want to raise their two daughters in a Maryland that works for everyone. Peter wants every kid — no matter their background — to have the same opportunities he had.

Peter has been involved in national Democratic politics for many years, including serving as the Executive Director of the 2004 Democratic Platform Committee for John Kerry. He is the founder of an international law firm and represents clients throughout the world. Peter’s practice includes substantial pro bono work. He is also on the Board of a human rights organization that represents prisoners of conscience, including those fighting for religious freedom. He’s spent decades fighting for justice, often against long odds. His cases have been featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, and as a Harvard Business School case study.
